I tried listening to many new bands in the past 2 months. I observed something which I had not noticed before.
When I switched to a new band ( I usually listen to only one band for days or months) I didnt really like the band initially despite the fact that the band is a very famous one. (The band I'm talking about is Within Temptation which is one of the best gothic bands around). However I forced myself to listen to its tracks and I started liking it gradually till the extent that I have been listening to it constantly for almost a week. In fact some of its tracks are, I feel, good enough to be called some of the best tracks of its genre.
So I think that whenever one tries to listen to a new artist one should not be hasty in deciding whether it suits his/her taste or not. It takes a while to get used to the style of the band after which we actually start understanding their tracks.
This expains something that happened to me a couple of years ago when I hated the band Papa Roach initially but then started liking it like crazy after a year when I had to listen to its track due to shortage of any music.

Enough said about switching now I am wondering how long it takes to get bored of a band and why.
During my gothic mania in the past month I tried many new bands. While I continue liking some, I have gotten bored of some and for a few my liking is increasing.
