It's true! It comes as a huge surprise though since most of the gamers are avid Firefox users and this hurdle means, for gamers like myself, that I would rather buy my game from somewhere else (like flipkart) instead of resorting to the browser that must not be named just for opening the EA store website. In some cases, enough to prevent me from buying an EA game altogether. :|
