As a result of some bug, no doubt, the character Zangief is unbeatable in Street Fighter 4 in hardest difficulty. It's not just against human skill but even when pitted against every CPU opponent the CPU controlled Zangief remained unbeatable. The only characters who got close to beating him were Abel, Cammy and Fie Long.

Well my friend defeated Zangief in hardest difficulty. It seems the trick is to jump away from him when he approaches for his move. Ranged attacks work well against him.
